Ancient Medical Instruments dating from 1st-2nd Century AD presented to His Excellency, the President of Ireland, Dr Patrick Hillery, by His Excellency, the President of Israel Chaim Hertzog, June 1985.
The son of a Rabbi, Chaim Hertzog was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1918, before emigrating to Palestine. During his lifetime he served his country as a lawyer, a soldier in the Israel Defence Forces, a diplomat at the United Nations, and as a politician. He served two terms as President and died in 1997.
