This fiddle was the one used by Gus Tierney to win many of his medals from the fleadh’s all over the country, and brought him the success he deserved.
The fiddle, as traditional musicians always call a violin, is a Le Petit Fils de Geronimo Grandini.
Louis Emile Jerome Thibouville-Lamy was born in France in 1833. He worked
at Mirecourt and Paris and was the sole proprietor of various factories
at Mirecourt. On the label attached to the inside of the fiddle is the
word Paris which suggests that this fiddle was made by his sons in the
city about the year 1920.
