Silver Bank Token

This ten pence bank token was found in a garden in Spancill Hill, and carries the image of King George III and the legend GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA.

Although dated 1805 it may have been struck any time between then and 1808 as an Act of Parliament only authorised coins dated 1805 to be used as official currency. So from 1806 until the end of the issue in 1808 all tokens struck were dated 1805.
