| Silver Confraternity Medal The first Irish branch of the Holy Family Confraternity was set up by the Roman Catholic Church in 1868. At its Diamond Jubilee in 1957 the membership was 7,172. There were separate confraternities for both women and men, and the blue ribbon on this medal would suggest that it related to a women’s confraternity as medals presented to men carried red ribbons.
