Matt Talbot Community Presentation
Plaque presented to His Excellency, President of Ireland, Dr Patrick Hillery, by the youth of the Venerable Matt Talbot Community, 11 November 1979. This momento commemorates the United Nations Year of the Child, 1979.
Matt Talbot was a Dublin alcoholic who gave up drinking and became deeply religious, modeling his life on the lifestyle of Irish Monks of the 8th Century. He is now known as Blessed Matt Talbot, the last stage before becoming a saint.
