Clare Champion, Friday, 20th May 2005
The Clare Heritage Circle has recently received an award for finishing in the top 50 in the International Best Brochure competition. Run by the International Association of Professional Brochure Distributors, it honoured the Clare Heritage Circle as a regional nominee.
The booklet, selected from over 7,500 entries from North America, Europe and South Africa, was officially launched in June 2004 and has been received extremely well by both tourists and operators alike.
The Clare Heritage Circle was formed in 2003 and includes East Clare Heritage, Clare Museum, the Burren Centre, Clare Heritage Centre, Dysert O’Dea Castle, Lahinch Seaworld, Vandeleur Gardens and Shannon Dolphins. The group’s main objective is to co-ordinate the efforts of individual tourist operators across the county in promoting the county’s heritage treasures.
Initiatives to date have included the booklet, a countywide newsletter, the purchase of ten showcases for rotating temporary exhibitions and joint promotional ventures.
The booklet is available at Ennis Tourist Office and most tourist outlets throughout the county.
