Heritage Education Week at Clare Museum

4th – 7th April 2006

Heritage Education Week will run at Clare Museum from 4th - 7th April, and it is targeted at primary schools, particularly 4th to 6th classes. The purpose of heritage education week is to generate greater interest and appreciation of our heritage in primary schools in a practical and pupil-friendly way.

It is hoped in turn that teachers and pupils will be encouraged to leave the classroom to enjoy their local heritage and come to identify Clare Museum as a valuable educational resource.

During the week, a speaker will give two 30 minute classes daily at 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m., with a different topic each day. Places are limited to 35 pupils for each class, and bookings can be made by calling the curator at 065-6823382 or by email at claremuseum@clarecoco.ie. It is essential to book early to avoid disappointment. Why not combine an education week workshop with a visit to the permanent exhibition.

ADMISSION TO THE WORKSHOPS AND THE EXHIBITION IS FREE TO SCHOOL CHILDREN AND TEACHERS
