Heritage Education Week at Clare Museum

27th - 30th March, 2007

Heritage Education Week will run at Clare Museum from 27th - 30th , and it is targeted at primary schools, particularly 4th to 6th classes. The purpose of heritage education week is to generate greater interest and appreciation of our heritage in primary schools in a practical and pupil-friendly way.

It is hoped in turn that teachers and pupils will be encouraged to leave the classroom to enjoy their local heritage and come to identify Clare Museum as a valuable educational resource.

During the week, a speaker will give two 30 minute classes daily at 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m., with a different topic each day. While Tony Kirby's workshops will be 45 minutes in duration, the other workshops will be 30 minutes in length. Places are limited to 35 pupils for each workshop and bookings can be made by calling the curator at 065-6823382 or by email at claremuseum@clarecoco.ie. It is essential to book early to avoid disappointment.

Why not combine an education week workshop with a visit to the permanent exhibition and to the temporary exhibition: Empowering the People: the career and acheivements of Dr. Brendan O'Regan..

ADMISSION TO THE WORKSHOPS AND THE EXHIBITION IS FREE
