This year, Heritage Week will run from September 7-13 inclusive, with the primary purpose of fostering awareness of the built, natural and cultural heritage of Clare, thereby encouraging its conservation and preservation.
Clare Museum will feature a number of lunchtime lectures which will take place between 1.15 pm-1.45pm throughout the week on subjects as diverse as the Landscape of Clare, the Spancill Hill Fair, and the Shannon Airport Lagoon.
There will be a number of exhibitions including Daniel O’Connell’s coat on short-term loan to the museum, an Enfo exhibition on owls and also a special exhibition of artifacts from the museum stores.
Admission to all these events and to the permanent exhibition The Riches of Clare is free, and all are welcome. Opening hours are Monday – Saturday 9.30 am – 5.30 pm and 2-5 pm Sunday.
