Sunday 15th May: Inis Meain: Christine Grant will bring us on a walking tour of the island, particulary to visit the magnificent and spectacular Dun Conchubhair. Meet at Doolin Pier at 9:15 a.m.sharp. Returning about 5:00 p.m.Probable fare €25.

Wednesday 25th May: Walking archaeology with Graham Hull and Kate Thompson. From Cratloe to Coonagh, to visit various sites. Meet at Bunratty Castle Car Park at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday 12th June: Visit Knockgraffon motte, church and castle. Then continue on to Cashel to meet with Rev Philip Knowles, Dean of Cashel at 3:00 p.m. The Dean has very kindly offered to show us the cathedral, the Bolton library and, as he is one of the foremost organists in the country, he will give us a short recital. We are then invited to a cup of tea in the Deanery. I hope we will be joined by George Cunningham. Meet at Bunratty Castle Car Park at 11:00 a.m.

Wednesday 29th June: Grania O’Brien Weir has kindly consented to show us around her ancestral home, Dromoland Castle, and explain the various portraits of her forebears. This is a marvellous opportunity to visit this historic site. It will be followed by a B.B.Q in Shannon so please bring the necessary. Meet Catholic Church in Newmarket on Fergus at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday 3rd July: A visit to Lough Gur. Meet at Bunratty Castle Car Park at 11:00 a.m. or later at the Lough Gur Interpretative Centre.

Sunday 28th August: Jim Higgins, Heritage Officer for Galway City will bring us on a tour of the city. Anyone who was lucky enough to be with us last year on our tour of Annaghdown will remember what a thorough and excellent guide he is. Meet at the Bord Failte office in Forster at 11:00 a.m. There is a good car park there.

Sunday 4th September: A day in the Burren with Christine Grant. Meet at the Texaco Station on the Ennis side of Corofin at 11:00 a.m.

Wednesday 7th September: Deerpark House has recently been restored from its ruined condition. The new owners have very kindly agreed to let the members see the revived house. Cait Ni Ceallachain, the architect, will be on hand to explain how it is done. Meet at Bunratty Castle Park at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday 25th September: A visit to the Broadford Valley and Village with Pat O’Brien. Meet at the Hall in Broadford at 11:00 a.m.

Remember to bring strong footwear, wet gear and, for the Sunday Outings, some lunch. In some instances we will not be near a café or shops.
