Uprising 1944 Talk
The Clare Champion, Friday, November 16, 2012
POLISH national Jakub Kacprzak will give an illustrated lecture called Uprising 1944 this Thursday at the Clare Museum.
An intern at the Clare Museum, Jakub will tell the remarkable story of how the people of Warsaw rose up to try to liberate their capital city from the their Nazi occupiers.
Jakub’s grandfather, like the ancestors of many Polish
people living in Clare, was a participant in the two month long battle. The
talk begins at 8pm at Clare Museum and admission is free.
This is the second of three public talks taking place in the museum during November in conjunction with an exhibition titled ‘Remembering the Stories’. The exhibition recounts the human experiences contained in family histories of Clare residents during wartime, particularly the two world wars.
