First World War
Collection
During the First
World War thousands of volunteers
from Clare answered the call to join Irish Regiments
in the British Army while others on the Home Front
looked after refugees and the wounded in hospitals
in Ireland. Objects listed here are from the stores
at Clare Museum and reflect the roles that many
Clare people played during the Great War.
