Earth: The Riches of Clare
|
Polished Stone Axe Neolithic. From Cappafean, County Clare. The Neolithic peoples who made this axe, were the first to leave their mark on the landscape. They built large stone (megalithic) court tombs and portal tombs, including the famous Poulnabrone portal tomb, a major tourist attraction today. Ref: 1947:31 National
