Africa Star Medal

Awarded to Josephine Canny of Mountshannon for her services in the Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Nursing Corps.

During the Second World War, she served as a nurse for a period in military hospitals in Sierra Leone, and Alexandria and Cairo in Egypt.
