Description of stone:
Here we have the
site of a possible standing stone. It has a maximum height of 1.40 metres
and a maximum width of .85 metres. The edges of
this limestone block have been smoothened to a certain extent by livestock,
especially cattle, using it as a scratching post. This, of course, is
a problem with many so called “standing stones”. Were they
erected in early historical times or were they put up by farmers over
the past two centuries for scratching posts?
