origins of Clann Chruitín: chronicler-poets of the learned Gaelic
tradition Clann Chruitín were among the most notable learned kindreds in County Clare, holding hereditary lands in west Clare. The family was associated with the native literary tradition from the fourteenth until the mid-nineteenth centuries and included two notable Gaelic poets, Aodh Buí Mac Cruitín and Aindrias Mac Cruitín. Clare County Library is grateful to Luke McInerney for donating this article, which was first published in The Other Clare vol. 38 (2014), pp 19-30.
