Finish Island
Finish Island is opposite Coney Island
and is the nearest of the islands off the eastern shore. It consists of
160 acres of land of a superior quality for fattening cattle. Samuel Lewis
stated that it was formerly "called Inisfidhe or Cluan-Fidhe, and
was the seat of a nunnery over which St. Brigid presided in the fifth
century. The ruins of the old church still exist."
