Part 2: Chapter 8: Feenagh Parish: Deerpark Townland
Description of site: The single bank may be traced all around the site. It is on average ¾ - 1 metre high by 2 – 2 ½ metres wide. Much of this bank is covered beneath a heavy vegetation cover of, especially hawthorns. The only entrance into the site is from the south. It is almost 2 metres wide by 2 – 2 ½ metres long. There is no evidence of a fosse about this site. The site is, as stated previously, of a circular shape. Field examination found that the north-south and east-west internal diameters centre on 30 metres each. This ringfort is built on a natural rise and offers a wide view over the surrounding area, especially to the north-east.
