Athenry Ennis Junction Railway, from a junction with the Athenry and Tuam and Midland Great Western Railways at Athenry to Ennis, a distance of 36 miles, and connects cos. Galway and Clare with Midland Great Western line at Athenry, and with the Waterford and Limerick Railway at Ennis. Worked by the Waterford and Limerick Railway Co.

South Clare Railway between Kilrush and Kilkee.

West Clare Railway, 27m. in length, from Ennis via Corrofin, Ennistimon, Lehinch and Miltownmalbay

Shannon and Inland Navigation Co's vessels ply regularly between Killaloe (in connection with the Waterford and Limerick Railway), Scarriff, Mountshannon and Portumna.

Lower Shannon Steamship Company-Vessels ply regularly between Limerick, Tarbert, Redgap, Kilrush, Killadysert, etc.
