History & Achievements:
Michael Quillinan actually went by the name of Quinlan under all other
records. He was the Colour Sergeant for the Regiment at this time and
received another promotion after that to the QuarterMaster Sergeant. My
Great-Grandfather (Michael Quillinan's son) was born in Hobart while they
were stationed there - as mentioned all birth records the name is Quinlan
and his sister was born at Victoria Barracks when they were stationed
back in Sydney. He was admitted an out pensioner of Her Majesty's Royal
Hospital at Chelsea on 9 August 1853. His name on the documents of his
enlistment is Michael Cullinan which was translated into English as Quillinan.
His Army paper records show all the names listed above.
Paula Gill (Quinlan) - descendant
