1641 William Brigdale 1641. William Brigdale (or Brickdall), of Belacorick,[33] stood security for the fulfilment of covenants in a lease of the Earl of Thomond to Dr. Thomas Arthur, of the lands of Cratloe, 19th March, 1635.[34] Hugh Brickdall is named as a burgess in the Chapter of Ennis, 1612. During Brigdall’s shrievalty, 1641, commenced the war in Clare, and the brave defence of Ballyalla by Mrs. Cuffe and her sons. |
