The reputed inauguration ceremony of the Cenél Conaill. The King-elect slaughtering the white mare (a symbol of the territorial goddess) is shown wearing a dark green fallaing over off-white trews. When bathing in the mare's blood he is surrounded by men wearing fawn, dark green and yellow tunics with yellow, fawn, green and off-white trews. All men wear a version of the culan hairstyle in which the front of the head was shaved and hair at the back left long. |
