Rua O'Brien of Lemenagh, Co. Clare, about 1640, who married three times
to retain family lands. In this portrait she wears a black broadcloth
gown, Flemish pillowlace collar and cuffs, partlet of transparent linen
or silk trimmed with lace, silk ribbon trimming, headress of silk and
lace and Renaissance jewellery.
