Cooraclare is a small country village situated mid low hills, on the Cooraclare river - 5 mls. N.-E. of the important sea-port town of Kilrush, 5 mls. S.-W. of Kilmihil village 5 mls. S.-E. of Doonbeg village.

Brief comments on water supply and sewerage:
Water supply from a spring well near village. No Reservoir, but the water is perfectly pure. No sewerage scheme.
