Location and Brief Description:
On the main road from Ennis to Lisdoonvarna (Ennis 16 mls.,
Lisdoonvarna 7 mls.) Ennistymon is cosily situated two miles east of
Lahinch. Built in a valley, by the beautiful cascades of the river Inagh,
and surrounded by hills and woods - fishing, boating, swimming and shooting
being available - Ennistymon is a most attractive centre for tourists.
Four hotels, three of which are licensed, and several boarding houses
offer first class accommodation. Ennistymon has the distinction of being
one of the best marketing towns in Munster.

Through the grounds of the well known Falls Hotel runs a most beautiful
walking ground. The cascades, then the slowly moving Inagh river -
where boating is so popular - the woods, the green fields and the
Atlantic ocean in the distance present a most entrancing scene. This
walk is open to the public.

The water supply and sewerage system are good. They are both under
the care of the Clare Board of Health. A new sewerage system was laid
in 1940 at a cost of £7,500.
