A summer resort of great fame, Lisdoonvarna is situated
on the river Aille almost in the centre of the Killilagh parish 23 miles
N.W. of Ennis, 7 miles N. of Ennistymon, and 10 S.W. of Ballyvaughan.
Surrounded by treeless upland and moors, Lisdoonvarna, called the queen
of Spas, so famous for its mineral waters, has an attraction not only
for the sufferers from rheumatism etc., but also for the young and seekers
of pleasure. Its beautiful, up-to-date hotels where dances are held
several nights weekly. Its tennis courts and beautiful park all help
in making a real holiday.

The park is very conveniently situated in the town. It has an area
of about 30 acres, through which circles a beautiful walk at times
shaded by trees and at times wide open to the elements. You may rest
on the seats which are provided throughout the park, enjoy a game
of tennis or if feeling thirsty you may have a glass of sulphur or
iron water at the Twin Wells.
