Evicted Poor Protection and Relief Act - August 29, 1848

Circular to every Union in Ireland.

SIR,                                                                                 Poor Law Commission Office, Dublin, August 29, 1848.

I AM directed by the Commissioners for administering the Laws for Relief of the Poor in Ireland to transmit herewith, to be laid before the Board of Guardians [or Vice-Guardians] of Union, copies of an Act (11 and 12 Vict., c. 47), recently passed, entitled "An Act for the protection and relief of the destitute poor evicted from their dwellings in Ireland;" and the Commissioners request that the attention of the relieving officers may be called to the provisions of the Act, of which a copy should be given to each of them.
