6. The New School - Island View National School

(e) Sale of the School Premises

The school premise, having remained vacant for 28 years, was eventually sold by the Church to Flann Sheehan in 2002. This was an appropriate conclusion to the parish's involvement given that the site for the school had been given free of charge by Conor Sheehan, Flann's grandfather, to Rev. Fr. Robert Fitzsimons representing the Church in the 1890's.
