Ordnance Survey Letters by John O'Donovan and Eugene Curry, 1839

Parish of Kilfeeragh. Footnotes.

1. The Hedromans are still numerous in the Parish of Moyarta adjoining, and are traditionally remembered as the ferry and fishermen of St. Seanan, who it is said, left them the privilege that none of the name should ever be drowned between Inis-Cathaigh and Kilcardain, nor was any of them remembered to have been drowned within that limit, though they are almost all boatmen.
