Clare, and Their Legends by Thomas Johnson Westropp |

Lisheencrony Lisheencrony, which gives the townland its name, lies near the garden of Liscrona. It is well preserved, but of little general interest. The outer ring is 4 feet high and 9 to 10 feet thick, with a sort of low banquette, like that at Doonaghboy, around its inner face. Inside this is a shallow fosse, barely 4 feet deep and 18 to 21 feet wide. The inner ring is 8 to 11 feet high and 12 feet thick, enclosing a garth 93 to 95 feet across, and practically circular.
