Water
from the turbines is discharged via 59 feet long draft tubes to the tail
race and is then conveyed back to the river downstream at Parteen-a-Lax.
For most of its length it is a cutting through solid rock. Care had to be
taken to remove any protruding pieces of rock in order to facilitate navigation.
A bridge was constructed over the tail-race at Parteen Village.
