Colonel Ghadhaffi

by Richie Jones

Colonel Ghadhaffi passed me today
Driving a yellow Toyota
A world-weary smile as he swerved to avoid me
His wife just looked bored by his side
He’s thinking no doubt about Fidel and George
And Boris and Saddam’s transgressions
He sounded the horn, but he kept right on driving -
Perhaps he mistook me for someone?
