A Poem on the Saints of Munster
by Luke McInerney

Presented here in this paper by Luke McInerney is a transcribed and translated poem that recounts details concerning certain ‘Saints of Munster’. The poem was written in 1780 at Dunaha in Moyarta from an older manuscript, the original exemplar being a version compiled by the notable Co. Clare poet Aindrias MacCruitín in 1721. This poem is of particular interest to students of County Clare history not least because most of the saints mentioned had a strong local connection; noteworthy examples include Inghean Bhaoith, Laichtín and Mochuille. This paper was published in Seanchas Ard Mhacha, vol. 24, no 1 (2012). Clare County Library is grateful to Luke McInerney for donating this article.
