Kilkisheen

A village in the parish of Clonleigh, barony of Lower Tulla, Co. Clare, Munster. It stands 3½ miles north of Six-mile-Bridge, on the road thence to Tulla. Area, 23 acres. Pop., in 1831, 519; in 1841, 559. Houses 85. Families employed chiefly in agriculture, 52; in manufactures and trade, 35; in other pursuits, 12. Families dependent chiefly on property and professions, 2; on the directing of labour, 38; on their own manual labour, 54; on means not specified, 5.
