A Man's Game - February 2011

A Man's GameClare Youth Theatre takes to the main stage in Glor on with a work by Scarrif based playwright Paul Brennan. The play examines how society tends to undervalue and marginalize womens' sports. Entitled, “A Man’s Game”, it follows the story of the Bolandstown camogie team from the bottom of the league to the championship final with the help of new coach Billy. It explores the teen issues of school pressures and the competing demands of other extracurricular activities including the more successful school choir, Their new coach Billy has his own demons to grapple with as he avoids the club house and helps the team deal with internal jealousies and team politics.

Clare Youth Theatre have a wonderful history of involving teens from all corner’s of the county in excellent and original dramatic productions. A Man's Game directed by Theresa Leahy will continue this tradition with this wonderful production suitable for all ages.

A Man’s Game will have two performances in Glor on Saturday, February 26th, 2011. A matinee will take place at 3p.m. and the evening performance will take place at 8p.m. Tickets are €12 and €10 concession and are available from Glor box office 065 6843103 or book on line at www.glor.ie
