The Burren College of Art continues to attract growing numbers of Irish and international students to its Ballyvaughan campus. Exposing these students to the best of Irish contemporary artists is viewed as a vital component in the college curriculum. This policy has held its standards high as exemplified by the calibre of artists employed in the college as well as those that are invited to visit. Some visiting Irish artists of the past few years have included Dorothy Cross, Deirdre O'Mahony, Philip Napier, Hazel Walker and Louise Walsh. Additionally, among the international artists are Gregory Amenoff, John Baldassari, Richard Bosmin and Richard Long.
The College is preparing to develop a series of cultural events, exhibition openings and talks that will take place during evening hours and these will be open to the general public and to its Friends. Further details about the Friends will be available in February.
