Clare County Arts Office - Creation of an Artistic Panel
The Arts Office of Clare County Council is establishing a panel of artists who will be invited to apply for upcoming commissions which arise through the Department of the Environment and Local Government's Per Cent for Arts Scheme.
These commissions will relate to social housing, urban and village renewal schemes and other schemes which may arise within the local authorities by December 2003. It is not anticipated that any of these schemes will be in excess of €20,000. The panel will be valid until the end of December 2003.
The artistic panel
is being drawn from over 300 artists who have declared an interest in being
on the artistic panel. These comprise of:
- Artists who previously applied for commissions with Clare County Council
- Artists who responded to nationwide advertisements early in 2002
Applicants for
the panel should have experience in creating their own work and / or in working
with communities. Applications are welcome from all creative disciplines as
forthcoming commissions may include commissions that are temporary, non site
specific, community based etc. To apply for inclusion on the panel applicants
should include:
- A current CV
- An artistic statement / statement of work practice
- A selection of slides (not more than 8)
- A selection of catalogues, publications etc. if available

must include a self addressed envelope for return of slides and supplementary
material.

Closing date for receipt of application is: November 1st, 2002.
N.B. If applying
for the N18 / N19 Public Art Commission please note that one current CV, one
selection of slides (not more than 8), one selection of catalogues, publications
etc. and one S.A.E. will suffice but an artistic statement / statement of work
practice will still be required. Please mark this clearly on the Application
Form enclosed.
