General Information
The Arts Office of Clare County Council, in association with Clare Education Centre, and supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, is pleased to announce that the successful Artist in Schools Scheme is recommencing in October 2003.

This project, available to schools throughout Clare, is aimed at increasing young people’s exposure to the visual arts by actively involving them in artistic experiences and opportunities. The scheme gives schools the opportunity to have professional artists visit and work with both the pupils and teachers. For the first time, the scheme is being opened to all disciplines of the arts e.g. drama, dance and music.

Following the successful move to longer residencies in 2002/ 2003, all applications under the visual arts strand will be for residencies up to 25 hours long.
All other residencies will be for 15 hours long.

Visual Arts Residencies
Schools are invited to make joint proposals with participating artists, all of whom are listed on our website at http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/cominfo/arts/artists_in_schools/artists_surname.htm

Each residency will be for up to 25 hours long.
Schools are expected to cover all the material costs involved in the residency, including costs associated with documenting the residency.

All Other Residencies
Schools are invited to make joint proposals with participating artists, all of whom are listed on our website at http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/cominfo/arts/artists_in_schools/artists_surname.htm

Each residency will be for up to 15 hours long.
Schools are expected to cover costs associated with documenting the residency. Schools will also be expected to make a contribution towards the cost of the project at a cost of €5 per pupil participating.

The closing date for completed application forms and proposals is Friday, October 31st, 2003.
Late applications will not be considered.
