Opportunities at Draíocht

Draíocht is the most imaginative new arts facility to open in the country for many years, and it is nearing completion at the Blanchardstown Town Centre.  When it opens in early 2001 it will include a 250 seat theatre, exhibition spaces, artist’s studio, 80 seat studio theatre, rehearsal/seminar rooms and spaces for workshops/courses.

It will be a showcase for local, regional, national and international professional and amateur work, including performance, music and visual arts. It will offer a comprehensive programme of classes, workshops, lectures and participative work for all ages.  Draíocht is presently recruiting for the following positions:

General Manager
Working in tandem with the Director, he/she will be responsible for the efficient running of the venue and will have good interpersonal skills, ability to motivate staff and to work as part of the team.

Marketing, Press and PR Officer
This role concerns sponsorship, fund raising, ‘Friends of Draíocht’, print, press releases, liaison with media and the public.

Production Manager
Working on Stage and Backstage management, maintenance, security, exhibition hangings, technical supervision and transport.

Visual Arts Officer
Responsible for the organisation of visiting and local exhibitions, artist-in-residence scheme, liaison with artists/art organisations, support for community groups, programming, workshops/classes.

Outreach Officers
Liaising with community groups, schools, other organisations; devising outreach programmes outside the centre; helping with programming in the centre.

Financial Controller
Responsible for all financial aspects of the centre, including income controls, budgets and management accounts.
