Ennis Information Age Town
In 2006 Ennis Town Council commissioned a piece of art funded by the Ennis Information Age Town to celebrate Ennis’ success in being chosen as the Information Age Town.

Excerpts from Artists Proposal:
My proposal is a sculpture entitled ‘Craoladh’ i.e. broadcast.
The stainless steel and bronze sculpture is 6 metres high (20 ft.) Information
distribution, in this digital age, is still echoed in the biblical image
of hand scattering of seed in spring and it is the energy of this gesture
that is captured in this sculpture. The stainless steel ‘lines of
action’ spread from the lower core, vortex, area upwards and outwards.
The ends of the units of stainless steel are of bronze whose gold colour contrasts with the silver of the stainless steel. The analogy to copper within co-axel cables is fortuitous as indeed are any possible links with music, harp etc.
I have used this combination of materials on many pieces of public sculptures as the contemporary feel of stainless steel allied to the tradition of bronze as a sculptural material appeals to me.
