Co-Ordinator (Part-Time)
Background:
The Courthouse Gallery is a community-based art-space offering a range
of arts exhibitions and events that serve diverse audiences. Currently
in its 2nd year of operation, the gallery seeks to broaden its outreach
and further develop its programming. The gallery is fully programmed
until the end of 2008.
The Arts Office of Clare County Council programmes a number of venues in Ennis. They are currently re-developing the Gallery at the DeValera Library and are drawing up a new exhibition policy in relation to same.
Duties:
For the Courthouse Studios and Gallery the Gallery Co-ordinator will:

Direct and Implement Program of Art Exhibitions and Gallery Events at the Courthouse Studios

Oversee 2 Part-time FAS Staff and gallery volunteers
-
Promote sales of artwork from the Gallery
-
Manage publicity, PR and fundraising
-
Develop the Gallery’s audience and profile
-
Consult with the Gallery Committee on an ongoing basis.
For the County Arts Office the Gallery Co-ordinator will:

Assist the Arts Office in devising policy for the Gallery at the DeValera Library

Assist the Arts Office in programming the Gallery at the DeValera Library
Experience
An ideal candidate will have experience in:
-
Selecting artwork and / or designing / curating / installing exhibitions
-
Managing staff in not for profit Arts organisations
-
Planning and managing a program of exhibitions and events
-
Planning and executing a publicity and PR strategy
-
Making fundraising applications
-
Designing publicity materials (ie: invitations, posters, etc)

General Information.
The position is part time (2.5 days per week) and is
based in the Courthouse Studio and Gallery in Ennistymon.
A 12 month contract is being offered.
Flexi –time is available to be decided in conjunction with the
gallery committee.
Candidates will be re-imbursed at the rate of €12,800 per
annum.
Candidates should be flexible around possible weekend and evening work
(e.g. workshops, exhibition openings).
Candidate should be in possession of a full clean drivers licence.
Candidates may be shortlisted for interview on the basis of applications received.
