The Arts Office of Clare County Council commissioned the Ex Libris Project. It aims to explore the role of libraries in our society, both locally and as a concept - a marrying of the local with the universal through the medium of the library service, literature and the arts.
The project consists of a series of interwoven strands:
Identity and image and others connect some things and people by a sense of place. In this project I am exploring the more intangible world of hidden connections. Free access to books through the library service is to celebrated and like the right to vote, never to be taken for granted. How else can we link Solzenitsyn's salt mines to the streets of 1930's County Clare or beckett's
