An exhibition tracing the history of music in Ireland in the twentieth century
Specially commissioned by the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland's national archive and resource centre for composers, it traces the development of classical music in Ireland from Stanford and Harty at the turn of the century, through the growth of interest in Irish traditional music with the work of Seán Ó Riada, and onwards to the present thriving new music scene. A special feature of the exhibition are the two listening posts, which provide, on CD, a varied and attractive soundtrack of works by leading Irish composers.
