Siobhán Mulcahy, Arts Officer with Clare County Council, is delighted to bring Tell Tale Theatre Company to Clare with their very successful production, Nageshwars Story.
Due to the overwhelming success this play enjoyed in Cork, Tell Tale Theatre Company are extending their tour to schools in Clare for the week 21st 25th February. The company have already played Nageshwars Story in over 70 schools and 30 other venues since April 1999.
Nageshwars Story is a true account of one childs experiences as a bonded slave labourer in India. A contemporary issue, school audiences have been alternatively enthralled by Nageshwars courage and deeply concerned that child slave labour still exists on such a massive scale.
Using lively, highly participatory workshops, Tell-Tales five dedicated actors transport the audience into a world where the realities of childhood in certain parts of the world are a stark contrast to life as a child in the West.
The play and workshops were devised by Tell Tale Theatre especially for eight twelve year olds. While in Clare, the theatre company will play to the following national schools: Carrigaholt N.S., Dromindoora N.S., Ballynacally N.S., Fanore N.S, Clondrinagh N.S., Kilbaha N.S, and Doonaha N.S.
This project is brought to Clare by Clare County Council and is supported by the National Committee for Development Education, Cork City Council, Trocaire, FAS and Christian Aid.
