Over the next year Mayo County Council plans to place a series of public sculptures at
locations throughout the county. Individual commissions will range in value from £20,000
to £50,000. Site visits will take place on 1 and 2 September 2000. There will then

The Ashford Gallery (in the RHA) now invites applications from artists to exhibit in
its gallery in 2002. Apply in writing by sending CV, slides or photos of work &

Place, Dublin 2. In addition to the written application, the Ashford Gallery is using a
new approach to aid selection and invites artists to bring actual artworks for viewing by
the selection committee on two specific dates over the next year.

South County Dublin has an extensive network of parks incorporating many types of flora
and wildlife. Visual artists working in any medium and interested in the depiction of such
environments are invited to register their interest in a six-month association with the
Parks Department.

The South Tipperary Arts Centre invites proposals for its 2001 gallery programme.

The Terryglass Arts Weekend takes place in County Tipperary from 1 to 3 September 2000.
The festival committee is commissioning two or three temporary outdoor artworks for the
lakeside area of the village. £250 will be paid to each artist whose works are chosen for
exhibition. Artworks must be sited by the artist and should be in position by 1 pm on 1
September. Terryglass is a lakeside village in north Tipperary on the shores of Lough
Derg. Proposed artworks should take into consideration the natural environment in which
they will be sited. It is envisaged that one of the artworks may be a piece based on

The Umha Aois experimental bronze casting symposium will be held at the beginning of September. The Sympopsium will be held over a long weekend (3 4 days) and there will also be a 3 day baked clay mould making workshop held 4 weeks prior to the main event to facilitate the drying of moulds. The theme of the symposium will be our cultural connection with the Bronze Age and emphasis will be placed on the re-discovery and innovative use of Bronze Age techniques.
