Poetry Ireland/Éigse Éireann announces a change in our regular "INTRODUCTIONS SERIES" for emerging writers. We have decided to begin the series with a weekend workshop wholly funded by Poetry Ireland for all selected readers, facilitated by Paul Meehan. There will be twelve places on the workshop, which will be held in Dublin on the 25 and 26 March 2000. Each workshop-participant will go on to give a public reading in Dublin later in the year as part of the INTRODUCTION SERIES of readings, which have been a regular element of Poetry Ireland's programme for the past ten years.
The Introductions Series of readings began in 1990 and since then more than 150 emerging poets have read for us and gone on to publish collections and establish themselves among the ranks of the nations poets. The purpose of the series is to give beginning writers an opportunity to put their work infront.
