Issues arising at the site meeting – January 22nd, 2014:
The briefing document presents a framework for the commission(s), but artists may present proposals that deviate from that eg. art may be placed at other locations around the building, other than those highlighted but artists should include their strategy/thinking for such an approach.
The overall budget remains at €15k.
The commissioners will be commissioning a piece of art for the wall behind the reception desk.
The selection process can result in a number of commissions to a number of artists.
The successful artist(s) is required to provide a tax clearance certificate from the revenue commissioners. If the artist does not have one at the time of making the submission, they should indicate in their proposal that it is their intention to apply for one if successful. This is separate to the Artists Exemption from tax. Artists exemption is not required.
