Sculptor: Alan
Burke, Co. Down
June 2004
Radharc an tSéideáin (The View of the Gentle Breeze) is a Housing Scheme of 8 houses, adjacent to a wetlands area which is home to a large number of swans throughout the year. It is situated directly across from the Corofin Old Union Workhouse.
The sculpture Radharc an tSéideáin is located adjacent to the housing development and has been created by the artist Alan Burke, with local input from the children of Corofin N.S. who worked with Alan's wife Trudy on creating a mosaic piece for the sculpture on the theme of the Gentle Breeze.
The sculpture features three images depicting the local environment, cattle, swans and flowers, caved on Portland stone and spaced between areas of natural stone wall.
