PARTICIPATING WRITERS
JOHN BREEN
The brilliant Limerick playwright whose 'Alone it Stands' has delighted audiences everywhere. Based with the Yew Tree Theatre Company in Ballina, John is currently working on a new play.

TONY BROWN
Well-known broadcaster on local history, Tony has a wealth of information about Limerick in days gone by.

LOUIE BYRNE
Founder-member of the Scribblers, Louie has published extensively in Britain and Ireland, including a three-volume memoir and fiction, poetry, folk-lore.His latest book is to be launched at the Scribblers' Weekend.

PADDY CRONIN
Paddy writes local history and has produced an excellent book on his native Askeaton.

MIKE FINN
Mike's amazing ' Pigtown' has been a huge success.
A professional actor with the Island theatre company, his new play opened this month and he has written another pantomime for Christmas 2002.

BILLY KELLY
An experienced Limerick Leader columnist, Billy will share his expertise with our workshop group.

JESSIE LENDENNIE
Director of Salmon Publishing in Clare, publishers of poetry books, Jessie runs regular Poetry Weekend Work-shops.

TIM LEHANE
A producer of radio programmes for RTE 1, Tim has also explored the international radio scene and has an exten-sive knowledge of the media.

EDDIE LENIHAN
Author of many books for children, Eddie is an extraor-dinary storyteller who draws on a rich tradition of Irish tales. He captivates audiences with his distinctive style of narration.

JAMES McMAHON
Writer and researcher, James has told the story of the Limerick Athenaeum in 'If Walls Could Talk'. He is cur-rently writing a maritime history of the city.

TOM NESTOR
For many years a columnist with the Limerick Leader, Tom published a moving memoir of growing up in County Limerick. This year he published his first novel, The Blue Pool..

EILÉAN NÍ CHUILLEANÁIN
Professor of English at TCD, Eiléan is one of Ireland's leading poets. She is co-editor of the literary magazine 'Cyphers'. She has won the Irish Times Award for Poetry. Her most recent poetry collection is "The Girl Who Married the Reindeer". She is married to the poet Macdara Woods.

CIARAN O'DRISCOLL
A lecturer at the School of Art and Design, Ciaran has published four books of poetry and has won awards for his work. He recently launched A Runner Among Falling Leaves, a beautiful yet disturbing memoir.

REDMOND O'HANLON
Lecturer in drama at UCD, Redmond has been published internationally on Wine, Theatre and the Novel. He organises an annual Dionysus Colloquium in Montpelier in the South of France.

JOHN O'REGAN
Presenter of a popular traditional music programme on local radio, John is also a publisher who encourages Limerick writers. He also has experience of broadcasting abroad.

DAVID RICE
Director of the Killaloe Hedge-School for Writers, which runs regular weekend courses, David has been a syndicated columnist in the US, was Director of the Rathmines School of Journalism and has written best-selling works of fiction and non-fiction.
