Tides Gallery, Liscannor
Pints of View - An exhibition of paintings by Eamonn Doyle
Sunlight streams through a window, filtered by aged glass, it strikes
a pint. As it passes through that glass it illuminates; the glass itself,
the dull glowing stout inside, the polished table below, the unusual
thought unspoken. At this moment, the pub is not about music or song
or boisterous laughing chatter; that comes later. The paintings in this
exhibition capture the calm and stillness of an afternoon in an Irish
Pub.The selection of pubs from Ennistymon, Lahinch, Liscannor, Miltown
Malbay, Doolin and Moher which are represented here, as well as others
in the area, still have time for these moments. Please enjoy these images
sensibly, or not.
